Confusion. Repetition. Obsessive. Counting. Re-living loss. Adult as child. Time stands still. They are gone. Isolation. Frozen in time. Holding on. He has Dementia. When one lives with memory loss disease, how does he understand the world around him? From an artist’s point of view, understanding is a visual process. These images are a result of an exploration into understanding the world in which one with memory loss lives. They become a visual interpretation of the world my grandfather exists in on a daily basis. Hourly. Each minute. Each second. This essay is an interpretation of a mind that is slowly slipping away.
